The file consists of one handwritten volume which begins on 26 August 1883, with a number of loose pages in the back; Some rough notes for the annals which are on the back of a letter from a butter salesman dated 1890, and a song 'I love you little Angel'; a type written copy of the early annals with handwritten annotations on loose pages, one paragraph covers the years 1939 up to 1958 when the convent closed; a drawing of Beverley market; and two photographs of the garden and chapel.

Scope and Contents The file consists of a handwritten history of the land on which St Mary's convent Southcoates Lane was built, it is handwritten onto the reverse sides of a Guildhall Meeting book, it was written in 1931 by Joseph H. Hirst; six sheets giving a typescript history of Wilton Street and Southcoates Lane convents. The red ink notations are from an account by Joseph H.
