Scope and Contents
The file consists of 1. Four copies of the "Story of Hull Convents and Schools 1857 to 1957"; 2. Two typescripts and one handwritten, which detail the story of Endsleigh College, St Mary's secondary school for girls, and Anlaby Road Convent and school; 3. One exercise book telling the story of Hull Convent, Anlaby Road and then Endsleigh Convent from 1855 to 1956, it is marked 'Early Years'; 4. One folder marked 'About Endsleigh' and stamped 'Archives Northern Province', it was produced for the centenary celebrations on 8 January 1957. The history begins in Dublin in 1830 and Hull convent in 1857; 5. One booklet entitled 'St Mary's school beginnings and endings' includes articles about the school from 1905 to 1988; 6.Two typed versions of the history of the foundation of Hull Sisters of Mercy.
