Letters written by M. Clare Moore RSM to Sisters of Mercy, 1847 August-1874 November
Letters written to Sisters at Bermondsey and branch houses or foundations. One was written from Scutari to M. Aloysius in Bermondsey, dated 26 August 1855 (with a typed transcription). Another was written from Lauriston Gardens, Edinburgh. One of the letters may have been sent to the Sisters at Brighton (addressed to "Grandchild"), so may rather belong with the Brighton collection.

M. Gonzaga Barrie RSM, 1851 - 1868
Reverend Mother would have kept individual files for all Sisters in the community, containing their personal details and certificates. The content of the two folders in the first file have been arranged alphabetically by surname and contain wills, examinations, birth and death certificates, baptism certificates, educational certificates, and any associated correspondence. Sisters' files which are more complete or are of particular note have been added as separate files.
Papers of M Clare Moore RSM, 1860
The file consists of the last will and testament of M Clare Moore RSM (Georgina) witnessed by M Gonzaga Barrie RSM (Georgiana), and M Stanislaus Jones RSM (Margaret) on 16 January 1860. All three Sisters went with Florence Nightingale to the Crimea War to nurse soldiers in the 1850's. The file also contains images of Mother Clare taken from postcards and a large painting of her which resides in Bermondsey heritage centre. The file also includes a large framed photograph of M Clare Moore.
