Envelopes addressed and two letters written by Bishop Thomas Grant, Circa 1862-1870
A booklet containing envelopes postmarked circa 1862 to 1870, with a few wax seals and stamps, addressed mainly to M. Clare Moore RSM at Bermondsey Convent of Mercy. Some of the envelopes are addressed to Bishop Grant in M. Clare Moore's hand (delivered by hand). The booklet contains two letters written by Bishop Grant to M. Clare Moore RSM from Rome, dated 07 June 1862 and 18 January 1870. Also in the file are envelopes that were not been pasted into the booklet.
Spiritual direction by Bishop Thomas Grant, Circa 1852-1870
Notes and prose giving spiritual direction to the Sisters. One note, possibly in response to a letter from M. Clare Moore RSM (same paper), is entitled "Retreat 1865". The file also contains notes from the 1861 retreat and the last Pastoral letter from Bishop Grant written in May 1870. Other items are undated and include notes on the Garden of Eden, Fr Faber, Coleridge, and Brighton line [?]. A cover sheet made by the Sisters reads "Writing of our Venerated Bishop".

Typed and handwritten copies of visitation report for 1926 to Bermondsey, branch houses and schools, carried out by John Fletcher as representing the Bishop of Southwark. "Notes on the Visitation of the Convent of Mercy, Bermondsey" dated 1929 and 1930 and carried out by Charles H. Collins. 1931 visitation reports for St Vincent's, Whitstable and St Mary's, Eltham by Charles H. Collins.
