Relics and authentication certificates, Between 1822 and 1958
Sub-series consists of small relics and authentication certificates for larger relics (larger relics are held in a separate location due to size and materials). Often the authentication certificates are in Latin or Italian. Also included are a few relics or descriptions listed at item level as somewhat miscellaneous.
Prayers and prayer cards, Between 1882 and 1980
Series consists of records acquired and accumulated by the Reverend Mother of the Bermondsey Congregation, dating from 1822 to 1980. The series consists of retreat notes, spiritual writings, Mass cards and indulgences, relics and their authentications, prayers and prayer cards, horaria, music scores, poetry, Mass booklets and a retreat menu. The series illustrates Mercy spirituality from foundation to the near present.
Horaria, Circa 1850-1950
Printed "Horarium of the Community of Bermondsey", approved by Bishop Thomas Grant in 1856 (four copies). Horarium with Act of Contrition (the form of words), possibly handwritten by Mary Clare Moore RSM. Two handwritten horaria on two-sided paper. Handwritten horarium that may have been hanging in a frame for display. Also handwritten list of Church Cloak days, formerly in a frame for display, plus a list of the feast days of Mary.
