Biographical/Historical note

The veneration of relics of the saints recognises the contribution they have made to the Church and the world, and fulfils a human need to be reminded of loved ones who have left this world. Relics with their authentication certificates were given as gifts to the Bermondsey community by clergy and friends, and often smaller relics would be brought back by Sisters from pilgrimages to holy sites.
