Scope and Contents note
Reminiscences (dated 1938-1945) of the Bermondsey Sisters' evacuation with school children to Lewes, East Sussex, and the remote preparation beforehand. A letter from M. Bonaventure Hill RSM recounting the Bermondsey evacuation, sent from St Cecilia's, 8 Ferrers Road, Lewes and written between 22 and 27 September 1939. The letter gives a lot of interesting detail, particularly regarding the problems of billeting in a strange town. A list of "Sisters who taught in Bermondsey/Evacuation during the war" (undated).
