Scope and Contents note

Material collected relating to Alpha, Kingston, Jamaica, including historical research, anniversary publications, calendars, newspapers, programmes, souvenirs, photographs, correspondence, and articles documenting the history of Alpha Industrial School, Mount St Joseph School and the Sisters of Mercy's work in Jamaica. Also includes material relating to the 125th anniversary celebrations held in 2005 and information on M. Ignatius Davies RSM (1921–2003).

A new photograph of Florence Nightingale was found and donated to the Florence Nightingale Museum, London, in 2006. An exhibition was put on, to which Sisters of Mercy from Bermondsey were invited. Norma Lynch RSM dressed up in an old habit as M. Clare Moore RSM. The folder contains photographs from the event and news articles, as well as correspondence relating to copyright and publication of the photographs.
