Scope and Contents The file consists of two handwritten copies of 'regulations for Chapters, visitations, elections and burials' known as the Bermondsey book and was written by Catherine McAuley. These are guidelines to the Constitutions that the sisters lived out; two handwritten volumes of decisions of chapter from fourth July 1889 to thirteenth July 1936 in the first volume and 28 March 1938 to 15 September 1984 in the second volume; and the words for the blessing of the ring in the final profession...

The file consists of decrees, blessings and permissions of the Sacred Congregation for Religious for the Sisters of Mercy in Bournemouth or general church decrees collected by the sisters. They include permission needed for stations of the cross in the chapel and blessings for jubilees.
