Scope and Contents

The file consists of two handwritten copies of 'regulations for Chapters, visitations, elections and burials' known as the Bermondsey book and was written by Catherine McAuley. These are guidelines to the Constitutions that the sisters lived out; two handwritten volumes of decisions of chapter from fourth July 1889 to thirteenth July 1936 in the first volume and 28 March 1938 to 15 September 1984 in the second volume; and the words for the blessing of the ring in the final profession ceremony.

Paper, ink, typescript, card, boards. All pages are intact but the spine is torn on the older 'Regulations' book, the older books are a little worn at the corners.
