Under the 'Children & Young Persons Act 1969 Section 46 The Cessation of Approved Institutions', Ave Maria became an Assisted Community Home provided by the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy with effect from 01 October 1973. The file contains photocopies of the relevant sections of the 1969 Act and legal information, including re-registration with the Charity Commission. Includes the booklet 'Management of Community Homes' by The Society Welfare Commission in response to the 1969 Act.
