One letter regarding Chislehurst reads 'A plot, 48 feet by 18 feet, has been reserved in the Burial Ground here for the Sisters of Mercy. There is space for 24 graves – usually 6 feet 6 ins by 2 feet 6 ins, and it is enclosed by iron railings and a suitable double gate. The Bishop gave me permission to consecrate the new extension to the burial ground and the plot reserved for the sisters in the top portion beneath the Crucifix. The whole ground has now been consecrated.'
