Sisters' papers, arranged A-Z by surname, 1840-circa 1980

The file consists of four folders arranged alphabetically by surname. It contains wills, examination papers, birth and death certificates, baptism certificates, educational certificates, medical cards, poems, photographs, travel documents, and associated correspondence and articles relating to individual Sisters.

It includes a poem sent to a Sister who entered at Bermondsey, identified as being about her blood sister. Also included is a photocopy of a photograph of a Sister, 1865–1944, who helped to found The Alpha School in Jamaica in the early twentieth century. An annotation on the document gives alternative dates of 1890–1908. Further notes identify the photograph as showing the Sister at St Anne’s Orphanage, Orpington.

The file also includes papers written by Sisters, including a reflection on the 2018 Eucharistic Congress.
