Scope and Contents

The file consists of three different books of the constitution of the Sisters of Mercy. The earliest, 1926 was printed by Browne and Nolan Ltd. It is a small volume of the constitutions used by the sisters in the UK in 1926. It has Tilbury convent's stamp on it; the second was printed in 1952 edition of the constitution of the sisters of Mercy Philadelphia, for the use of M Gabriel Cronin; and one slim volume of the constitutions produced at the beginning of the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy in 1986.It was printed by Ecclesial printers, Webberley Ltd. The inside cover reads: 'M Cecelia, Convent of Mercy, Wanstead 1987.
