Registers, 1888-1984
Scope and Contents
The file consists of registers of the Bournemouth community. There is a handwritten register of temporary profession and reception from April 1928 to 13 April 1966 giving the names and dates of temporary vows in the front and of reception half way through; a register of death of members of the community from 18 March 1889 to 06 May 1899 and then 04 June 1924, and in the back a register of postulants from 01 November 1889 to 22 April 1931; and a large register inscribed in gold on the front board 'Convent of Our Lady of Mercy, Bournemouth' and on the inside cover 'Register of Receptions and Professions' The pages are illuminated but none completed. There is also an insertion showing sisters' name, the date she came to Saint Joseph's, from where, when she was professed and when she died.

Paper, ink, pencil, boards, card. Temporary profession register has a poor cover, rusty staples have been removed. Bottom right corner is torn on the small register and the cover is coming away from the spine they are both supported by tissue and archival tape.
