Series consists of records acquired and accumulated by the Bermondsey Congregation between 1875 and 1988. The series consists of correspondence and papers from Robert Sharp and Son, Chartered Architects, who worked on a number of properties belonging to the Bermondsey Congregation; and papers relating individually to Bermondsey, Eltham, Chislehurst and Swanley Convents of Mercy.

The series is arranged into four sub-series: Robert Sharp and Son, Chartered Architects; Bermondsey Convent of Mercy; Eltham Convent of Mercy; and Chislehurst Convent of Mercy. Swanley Convent of Mercy is listed at file level due to the quantity of material available. The arrangement partly reflects original order and has partly been imposed for clarity by the archivist.
