Biographical / Historical

In 2006 The Marist brothers asked the sisters in Newman House if they would lease the property to them. The sisters obliged and moved to Cottingham Road, Hull in July 2006. Maureen Youle RSM and Hilary Rourke RSM made up the community. Sister Maureen worked with the Samaritan's and Sister Hilary in the Parish. In 2009 Geraldine Sweeney came to to Cottingham Road for accompaniment on her journey towards religious life. The house closed in 2011 after a process of discernment.

Custodial History

The archives of the Cottingham Road, Hull Community have been collated from the opening of the Convent of Mercy in Cottingham Road in 2006 and belong to the Institute of our Lady of Mercy.
