Scope and Contents

The file consists of two copies of a music manuscript, one with accompaniment, of a Suscipe in Latin. There is a covering message from 'Imelda' most likely Imelda Dent RSM from Southcoates Lane, Hull, dated 01 January 2016, to say that 'Austin' found it for her during the closing of Endsleigh Convent, but not which ceremony it was written for.

Biographical / Historical

The score was in existence before Monica Butler RSM, entered in 1966 [it was she who transferred the transcript and knew it from that date] it could, therefore, have been written for the Centenary of the Hull Sisters in 1957, as both Austin Thompson RSM and Imelda Dent RSM would have been in Endsleigh for the Centenary celebrations.
