Rites, ceremonies, customs and devotional practices, 1856-1886
Scope and Contents
1) Small book entitled "Ceremony Book for Reception and Profession of Religious Sisters of Mercy", printed by James Duffy of 7 Wellington Quay, Dublin, 1856. The book was used for "noviceship practice" and handwritten marginalia appears throughout the text.
2) Hardback volume entitled "Customs, Observances, and Devotional Practices of the Religious Called Sisters of Mercy", written by the Hull Sisters of Mercy and printed by John Mullany of Dublin, 1886. The inside of the book indicates that the book was presented to M Ligouri Lynch RSM by M Stanislaus Dawson RSM on 14 November 1909.
3) Hardback volume copy of item 2.

Paper, ink, hardcovers. One book has a sticky cover and the spine is broken, it is now wrapped in tissue and supported with linen tape. The other books show signs of frequent handling but are in good condition.
