Scope and Contents

The file includes the minutes of the meeting between the Sisters who were to run St Gabriel's Home for Retired Priests, M Joseph Plunkett RSM and M Peter Welbourne RSM and representatives of the Leeds diocese who owned the facility, Canon Wilcock and Monseigneur Kelly. There are also newscuttings concerning the Maridon Pastoral Centre in Doncaster on its opening in 1988, with one original photograph of the Sisters, clergy and Bishop Gerald Moverley who were present. The article describes the work of the Maridon Centre which was to be a drop-in for tea, counselling, and other services.
