Biographical / Historical

Alnwick established three branch houses, Crook being the first, opening in 1910 with Sisters Antonia and Cuthbert. They took over the very successful school, St Cuthbert's RC Primary School, from the Sisters of Charity of St. Paul. Crook became an autonomous house within the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy in 1983. In 1993 the Sisters withdrew due to lack of vocations.
