Annals, 1888-1992

The file consists of three sets of annals recording the day-to-day life of the Sisters and St Joseph’s Convalescent Home. One handwritten volume runs from the foundation of the Bournemouth community in 1888 to its closure in October 1992, with many entries recording Chapter election results. A second set, compiled by M Liguori Smith RSM, includes a history of the Bournemouth Sisters of Mercy and St Joseph’s Convalescent Home, with photographs. A third set covers 1888–1988 through photocopies of photographs and newspaper articles held elsewhere in the collection, with a narrative account. The file also includes notes on the annals.
