Scope and Contents note
The files consists of three sets of the story of day to day lives of the sisters and St Joseph's Convalescent Home, there is a handwritten set of annals in one volume running from the beginnings of the community in Bournemouth in 1888 to the closure in October 1992 many of the entries are simply the chapter results of votes for the Reverend Mother; annals compiled by M Liguori Smith RSM which has a history of the sisters of Mercy in Bournemouth and St Joseph's Convalescent Home and many photographs; and a set of annals which runs from 1888 to 1988 comprised of many photocopies of original photographs and newspaper articles held elsewhere in the collection plus a narrative. Also included in this folder are notes on the annals by Barbara Jeffery RSM.
